Education
2018-2022
Shaker High School

I went to Shaker High School from 2018 to 2022 in Upstate NY. I graduated with an Advanced Regents Diploma and I had an unweighted 4.0 GPA. I had some honors that I received throughout my years at Shaker, including Scholar Athlete for Shaker Girls Varsity Basketball, Seal of Biliteracy in German, Business Education Marketing Endorsement, and National Honors Society. I took numerous college credit courses, including Principles in Marketing, where I learned how to work with others and develop a business plan for a new inventive product that my group created. I also participated in two clubs, German Club and Key Club. When I was Secretary of Key Club I learned to be a leader at the member and officer meetings. I also learned to take the minutes for our officer meetings and assisted in planning events too. I was a dedicated player on our basketball team and I learned how to handle being critiqued and coached and became a leader for my teammates on and off the court.
2022-2026
High Point University

I'm currently a freshman ending my Spring semester at HPU as a Journalism major, possibly looking to minor in sports media. I'm a member of Circle K, which is a service/volunteering club, much like Key Club. I'm also a Presidential Scholar, Communication Fellow, and a Strickland Scholar here. I'm hoping to get involved with the Sports Link Club, tutor other students in psychology, intern over the summer, and study abroad in the future. I'm very excited to be at HPU and can't wait to see where all these connections I have already started to make will take me.
Internships
February-June 2022
Elementary Teacher Intern
I worked at Forts Ferry Elementary School in a second grade classroom, where I assisted the teacher, my mentor Mrs. Guba, in helping the kids stay on task and encouraged while learning. I also helped the three second grade teachers by making copies for them and I learned how they develop weekly lesson plans too. I had such an awesome experience here and I will probably work with children at another local school over the summer. I learned to think quickly on my feet to keep the kids entertained and I learned a lot about understanding how to spark interest and persuade various age groups of children into doing different tasks, because I also took days where I would work in other grades instead.
April-May 2022
NewsChannel 13 Sports Photojournalist Job Shadow

I worked at one of our local news stations, WNYT NewsChannel 13 Station, with Sports Photojournalist Ashley Miller. She became my mentor and really took me under her wing. She showed me how to operate equipment, like cameras, which I am now a lot more comfortable with, because I took Techniques in Media Production at HPU. During this internship I was able to go out with her and help her work local high school games and a Firewolves lacrosse game. At these events I got to hold and move her equipment for her, learned interview questions and how to add video and text to news programs, and I listened to live broadcast instructions that were being given through a headset while we were at the Firewolves game. It was an incredible experience and I'm hoping to work more hands on with her over the summer.
Volunteer Work
July 2021
Summer School- Blue Creek Elementary
Our group of officers at Key Club, including myself, where able to work with the people running the summer school program and allowed for our members to work with the teachers and children over the summer. Here we helped teachers with students as they learned, watched the children, and interacted with them to form trusting relationships. With my time at summer school I learned how to respect authority while also being just as respectful to the young children who I was in charge of and I learned how to rally the young kids to do their work while being kind and encouraging.
October 2021
Trunks for Treats- Boght Hills Elementary
Key Club members and officers also helped at this event too, and we dressed up in costumes, handed out snacks and prizes to children, and set up fun games for them to play as they trick-or-treated with their families around the school. We learned how to take orders from the adults running the events and being sociable and friendly were two characteristics that were prioritized for the event to be a success.
